10 Christmas Traditions in the Philippines | Jahric Lago

The Philippines celebrates Christmas for the longest time in the world, starting in September. People start decorating their houses with Christmas trees and lanterns. They also attend early morning masses called Simbang Gabi. Caroling is another popular tradition, where groups of people sing Christmas songs in exchange for gifts. Filipinos also exchange gifts anonymously during the Christmas season. Christmas parties are common, where people enjoy food, games, and performances. Noche Buena is a big celebration on Christmas Eve, where families gather to feast on traditional foods like lechon and bibingka. The Metro Manila Film Festival also takes place during Christmas, showcasing local films. On Christmas Day, Filipinos visit their relatives and godparents, receiving gifts and blessings.
